Is there any help out there?

What do you do if you are stuck on your homework assignment? Call a friend? Ask your parents? Wait until the next day and tell the teacher you have no clue?
There are many sites on the internet that can reinforce the concepts we are working on in class. For instance, I found http://www.purplemath.com/modules/slopgrph.htm
This site is for graphing using the slope-intercept method, something we will be learning to do.

What good math help sites have you found (or can you find)?

A word of caution, there are sites out there that will do the work for you. This may seem like a great idea, but what I have found is that students who use those sites usually do not do well on the test as they really have not practiced the concepts. Homework only counts 20% of your grade..... Tests are 80%. I would encourage you to work through your homework and only use the sites for "help" when you are stuck.

Well, when I am stuck on a homework assignment, the last thing I like to do is go and ask for help, because it's pretty important to me to be able to figure things out on my own. Usually, I look at the problems in the book, my notes, etc., and keep redoing the problem until I'm confident that I've figured it out. Even if it takes me a half hour to solve one problem, the concept sticks in my mind that much harder.

However, if I really cannot figure something out, I tend to partner up with my 8th grade brother and we try to figure things out together. I ask him for help and he asks me. It's a pretty good system, seeing as we're both in the same class, are mostly studying the same things, and live in the same house! So far this year, the farthest I've had to go was to him, because I really don't trust any internet sites...they don't explain things well for me and I'd rather have a textbook or a person explain things to me than an internet site I don't necessarily trust.

When i am doing my home work and i get stuck on a problem i would look at the question agen and then try to do it to the best of my ability and i would ask how to do that problem in class so when it comes to the test i will know how to do it.

When I am stuck on a problem I will usually look at the problem over again and then look at my notes, I usually try to figure it out on my own. If I can't figure it out I will ask my older brother or I will ask my mom. If neither of them can help me i will ask the mentors in my study hall or my study hall teacher. If I still have not figured it out by the time of my class I will ask my teacher

When I get stuck on a homework assignment, I normally try many different ways to solve it and then if that does not work, I go to my older brother. Alot of times he's willing to help me and knows what to do,but other times he doesn't.And my parents aren't really, "up to date" with all of the math we are doing, so then I normally call a friend that is in my class or doing the same stuff. Otherwise my last resort is Mr.Frieder in study hall 1st hour. He is a very big help if I do not get something.I have never and probably will never use an internet site that tells me what do to or does the work for me because then I still will not know what I'm doing when it comes to a test.

I usually ask for help if I need it. I do not know of any websites helping you in math but I am sure that I will try the one that you gave us if I need help.

When i need help on math hmwk, i usually call one of my friends that are in the same class as me. They might understand it better than i do so they can walk me through the steps. There are also mentors in my 3rd hour study hall that can help me or i find someone that is in the same math as me and ask them.

If I have trouble with a problem, I usually look at my notes before asking somebody, but then if I really can't get it I ask my mom. My last resort at home would be the computer.
When I am in study hall, I have the privilege of asking Mr.frieder any question. Sometimes though, he shows us round-about ways to get there.
When I try to find sites to help me with math, they just don't seem to click and show me a different way to do things than we have already done in class. That is why the computer is my last resort.

Well, from now on, i know that everyone can go for help with any math teacher during any class period if we get stumped on a problem. I would also be asking my mother, who is also very good with math.

I went out and googled helpful math sites and i found one that would maybe help with algebra if we need to know a definition or something.
It is:
http://www.aaamath.com/B/alg.htm
It takes a little bit to get to where you would want to be, but it might help when first learning algebra.

When I am struggling with a problem on a math assignment, I usually just skip the problem then move on to the next one. Then I wait until the next day to get help on it because I am a visual learner and calling a friend to ask a question just doesn't work for me. I also wait until the next day becuase I have study hall before algebra, so I can either ask someone in my math class for help or ask one of those fresh start helper people (they help A LOT.) I don't use an internet site for math help because that just doesn't work for me. That's why I always ask for help at school the next day.

When i get stuck on a math problem i usually call a friend. Or i see if my dad knows how to do it. If you dont want to do that i would recmend going to the math resource when i have a problem with math i get help and then i understand it. If you dont have study hall before math class you can always talk to your teacher in the morning.

When I get suck I ask my mom. She is a math wiz and she usually knows how to do it. She helps me figure the answer but also helps me learn it. If she really doesn't know I call a friend for help.

Whenever I need help with my algebra homework, i either go to my mom or my dad. When usually my dad gives me a big lecture about how to do the problem, and then he does an example...so usually i just ask my mom.

If i get stuck on my homework i ask my dad for help. He is very good with numbers and i guess he forgot to pass that trait on to me. I can normally work it out with him, but on occasion he has no clue. My next step would be to call a friend and ask if by chance they were able to understand the homework assignment. Usually by the end of all this i would have gotten all the information i needed to complete the homework.

I really have never thought about useing a web site for help so that site would be a good idea to use the next time i get stuck.

sorry some of may blogs have been so late... like i told you my computers were down for what seemed like forever :( then during break i totally forgot about them. So, i can understand if you can only give me half credit.

When i get stuck on a homework assignment i go to Mr. V. He is a really good teacher. I try to go to my brother but he does not know how to do it. My parents do not know how to do it either. But during my study hall i always go down and he takes his time with me and makes sure that i did it.
